Florida State Announces 5 Game Times.

College football season is inching closer and closer by the day and the layout of the season is starting to take shape. We’ve had the schedule, but now we’re getting multiple game time and TV network announcements, which allows us to start planning for the fall. As fans, we hold Saturdays sacred as we plan our trips, reunite with friends, and tailgate before rooting on our Seminoles.
As we look down the list of opponents, we circle games like Miami, Florida, Clemson, and of course, the big one against Notre Dame. However, there are plenty of games on the schedule that will provide excitement for Nole fans this season. While there are two noon games on this list (most of you know we aren’t fans of a noon kick), there are three night games, which we love most. We now know (at the time of writing this) 5 game times for the upcoming season, so let’s take a look at what we have so far! (All
times are Eastern Standard Time).
8.24 vs. Georgia Tech
Florida State will start the 2024 season against Georgia Tech in its first-ever game outside of the United States. These schools may be less than 300 miles apart, but they will be playing over 4,000 miles from home in Dublin, Ireland. Not only is this the first game for FSU, but it’s also the first game of the 2024 college football season so a lot of eyes will be watching to see how this one plays out.
It will be a noon kick on ESPN for the contest between the Noles and the Jackets. Tech returns the majority of an offense that averaged over 31 points per game a year ago. So, while FSU is a 13-point favorite according to Fan Duel, this game will not be a walk in the park. FSU will have an opportunity to make a statement against a conference opponent to open the season. While some fans may not be excited for the noon kick, remember that is 5 pm in Dublin.

9.2 vs Boston College
Florida State’s first home game of the season will be against Boston College, which gave a flu-ridden FSU team a scare last season. The Eagles begin a new era as Bill O’Brien takes over as head coach. He’ll waste no time getting thrown into the fire with his first game coming on the road against the reigning ACC champion. The last time BC traveled to Tallahassee; the Seminoles handed the Eagles a 44-14 beat down. Florida State is currently projected as a 21.5-point favorite over Boston College. This year’s matchup will be on Labor Day (Monday) with a prime-time kickoff at 7:30 PM under the lights in Doak! Fans can tune in to watch on ESPN.

9.2 (Tallahassee, FL.)

9.14 vs Memphis
In Florida State’s third game of the season, they welcome Mike Norvell’s former team, the Memphis Tigers, to Tallahassee. The Seminoles and Tigers have actually played quite a bit, 18 times to be exact, but this will be the first meeting since 1990. Memphis is coming off a 10-win season under fifth-year head coach Ryan Silverfield, who took over for Norvell and was his offensive line coach while at Memphis. Storylines aside, this looks to be a sneaky good game between two good teams. It’ll be an early start in Doak with another noon kick for the Noles. The game will be aired on ESPN.

9.14 (Tallahassee, FL.)

10.18 at Duke
Florida State’s seventh game of the season takes them to Durham, North Carolina for a Friday night contest against the Duke Blue Devils. The Noles may be a perfect 22-0 all- time against the Blue Devils, but the last trip to Durham in 2017 was a close call that ended with a score of 17-10.
After two solid seasons, head coach Mike Elko departed for Texas A&M. In steps Manny Diaz, a name that most FSU fans will recognize. Diaz is a former Seminole, but he’s known for his time as head coach of the Miami Hurricanes. After two seasons as defensive coordinator at Penn State, he’s back in the ACC and has already made a splash by signing former Texas transfer QB Maalik Murphy. The Friday night contest between the Noles and Blue Devils will kick off at 7 PM and air on ESPN 2.

10.18 (Durham, NC.)

11.9 at Notre Dame
In what most consider to be Florida State’s biggest game of the season, the Seminoles will face off with the Fighting Irish under the lights in South Bend. With a 7:30 PM kick on NBC, all eyes will be on what we project to be a top-10 matchup.
The Irish are coming off a solid 10-3 season and looking to maintain their momentum after bringing in former Duke QB Riley Leonard to replace Sam Hartman. The last time these two teams met, the Irish snuck out of Tallahassee with an overtime win in Brian Kelly’s final season at Notre Dame, but a lot has changed for both teams since that game.
This will be one of the biggest games of the 2024 season and would be a statement win for either program. The Seminoles haven’t taken down the Irish in South Bend since they handed them a 37-0 beatdown all the way back in 2003. We can’t wait for this massive matchup in prime time!!
