by The Longhorn Republic on September 19, 2024 at 2:31 am

The No. 1 Texas Longhorns are squaring off with a familiar non-conference foe, welcoming the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks to town in their final non-conference matchup of the year. With Quinn Ewers sidelined, redshirt freshman Arch Manning steps in to helm the offense after putting up massive numbers against UTSA. What do we expect from the offense under Manning and will Texas modulate its gameplan at all?

  • September 17, 2024 – Texas Dominates UTSA
by The Longhorn Republic on September 17, 2024 at 6:01 am

The newly-minted No. 1 Texas Longhorns once again did what elite teams do against outmatched opponents, dominating the UTSA Roadrunners by nearly 50 points. It wasn’t all good news for Texas, with Heisman-hopeful quarterback Quinn Ewers leaving the game with what was revealed to be an abdominal strain. Redshirt freshman Arch Manning filled in for the injured star and announced his presence to the nation with a massive, five-touchdown performance. What did we learn from such a lopsided performance and how do we spin it forward for the remaining non-conference game?

  • September 12, 2024 – No. 2 Texas welcomes UTSA
by The Longhorn Republic on September 12, 2024 at 12:59 pm

The No. 2 Texas Longhorns have high expectations for the rest of the season after they dismantled the Michigan Wolverines on the road. The rest of the season starts Saturday with a team from right down the highway, the UTSA Roadrunners. The post-Frank Harris era has had a rocky start, with UTSA coming off of a beating at the hands of rival Texas State and narrowly escaping Kennesaw State in the opener. What do we hope to see from Texas against an outmatched opponent?

  • September 10, 2024 – Texas dominates Michigan
by The Longhorn Republic on September 10, 2024 at 5:32 am

The No. 2 Texas Longhorns went into Ann Arbor and absolutely dismantled the Michigan Wolverines on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Quinn Ewers vaulted himself to the top of the Heisman Trophy conversation and found a new favorite target at the same time. The ground game was consistent with a corps mentality thanks, in part, to the offensive line dominating Michigan’s talented front. Defensively, Texas had no trouble with Michigan, who is still trying to figure out its identity in Week 2.

  • September 5, 2024 – Texas v. Michigan Preview
by The Longhorn Republic on September 5, 2024 at 4:00 am

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns built their playoff resume a year ago with a big road win in a hostile environment and hope history repeats itself as the head to Ann Arbor. What, if anything, can we take away from how the Wolverines performed in Week 1? Can we build a case for Texas to win the game? We dive in on that, plus Podstradamus picks and our streaming recommendations for the week.
