    The Texas Longhorns men’s and women’s basketball teams both tipped off the 2025-26 seasons over the weekend, with positive showings from both squads. While the men split the weekend 1-1, Texas led after one half against a Duke team that will likely play for a national championship. The Blue Devils got hot late and put away Texas, but the Longhorns reobunded quickly and got a big ranked win.The ladies picked up right where they left off last year, with three dominant wins to open the season and put the world on notice. Can Texas really compete for a spot in the national championship game and avenge last season’s struggles?
