The Elite 11 high school quarterback competition concluded last week, with Alabama commit Keelon Russell being named the 2024 MVP. Russell, one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 recruiting class, participated in the three-day event. The Texas native displayed impressive arm talent throughout the competition, ultimately earning the MVP title after starting the final day ranked second in the Elite 11 standings.
Russell is the first Alabama quarterback to win this award since Tua Tagovailoa, as noted by Hayes Fawcett of On3.com. Past MVPs of this competition, like NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud and 2024 No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, often have bright futures ahead.
Ohio State commit Tavien St. Clair also stood out, winning Wednesday night’s accuracy challenge. The five-star prospect is ranked as the No. 3 quarterback in the 2025 class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
USC commit Julian Lewis performed well too, winning the Pro Day title at the competition. He completed 14 of his 18 throws with three touchdowns during 7-on-7 drills, as reported by Charles Power of On3.com. Lewis, another five-star prospect, is ranked as the No. 2 quarterback and No. 9 overall player in the 2025 class according to 247Sports’ composite.
Though all 20 quarterbacks in the Finals put in commendable efforts, Russell ultimately earned the top honor.
