Indiana football is experiencing a season to remember, and the team’s remarkable start under new head coach Curt Cignetti is making history. With a 3-0 record, Cignetti has become the fourth of 30 coaches in Indiana’s 140-year football history to win his first three games. Now, he has the opportunity to achieve what no coach before him has—begin his Hoosiers career 4-0. This is a significant milestone, especially considering Indiana’s past struggles on the gridiron.
Indiana’s Record-Breaking Start
The Hoosiers are shattering records left and right. Two weeks ago, they broke school records for both points and total yards in a single game. Last week, they achieved their first-ever victory at the historic Rose Bowl, marking another milestone in what is shaping up to be a banner year for Indiana football.
One of the main drivers of this success has been quarterback Curtis Rourke. Despite some preseason doubts about the QB position, Rourke has stepped up in a big way. He threw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns in a dominant win over UCLA. With Indiana’s top cornerback D’Angelo Ponds sidelined for the first half due to a targeting penalty in last week’s game, Mack could take advantage and make some plays early on.
However, Indiana’s defense has shown resilience, and their depth will likely hold strong against Charlotte’s offense. The absence of Ponds for one half might not be enough to turn the tide in Charlotte’s favor, especially with Indiana’s pass rush led by Kamara poised to disrupt the 49ers’ attack.

Both analysts agree that Indiana should continue their dominant run against Charlotte. The Hoosiers’ high-powered offense and stingy defense make them heavy favorites. With Charlotte’s defensive struggles and Indiana firing on all cylinders, this game could get out of hand early.
One prediction has Indiana winning comfortably 38-10, while another projects an even more lopsided outcome, with the Hoosiers rolling to a 52-3 victory. Either way, all signs point to another Indiana win, allowing Cignetti to make history as the first coach in Indiana football history to start his career 4-0.
